GPA‑MN is among the earliest established chapters of Greyhound Pets of America - National (GPA), the oldest and largest greyhound adoption network in the United States. We have placed over 2000 greyhounds since 1989. GPA‑MN is endorsed by the National Greyhound Association (NGA) as a responsible adoption organization committed to finding loving homes for retired racing greyhounds.
Our primary obligation is to the dogs entrusted to our care. Our experienced foster homes and detailed matching process combine to give us the best chance at making optimal lifelong placements for each greyhound.
Every greyhound adopted through GPA‑MN receives comprehensive veterinary care and supplies before going to their forever home.
What Every Dog Receives
- Microchip for permanent identification
- Full physical exam by a licensed veterinarian
- 4DX blood & fecal antigen tests to check for and treat parasites and disease
- Parasite preventatives while in foster care
- Spay/neuter surgery
- Dental cleaning (and extractions as needed)
- Vaccinations all core vaccines updated to current standards
- Any other veterinary concerns covered while the dog is in foster care
- New basket muzzle, martingale collar, ID collar, and leash
- A warm coat for winter adoptions
- A head-start on home life with loving care in a foster home from the moment of arrival
